Rooms are built from verbs
Read the verb, then the room it built. Once you see the pattern you can never unsee it, and every Dutch floor plan reads itself.
- the verb
- wonen - to live · slapen - to sleep · baden - to bathe
- the room
- de woonkamer · de slaapkamer · de badkamer
bank: couch AND bank
Dutch bank means the couch and the money bank; context does the work. Better gift: rooms are built from verbs. wonen (to live) gives de woonkamer, slapen gives de slaapkamer, baden gives de badkamer. Learn one verb, get a room for free.
Two maps
First map: the home. Second map: you. Read it once for the shape. Read it again out loud.
