de or het?

Feelings are often de-words: de gevoelens. But humeur is het. Why? Because it comes from French. Learn it as a pair: het humeur, de gevoelens. No rule, just memory.

de
de gevoelens
het
het humeur

The trap: boos vs kwaad

Boos means angry. Kwaad is stronger , furious. But in Dutch, kwaad also appears in 'kwaad doen' (to hurt). So don't use kwaad lightly. Stick to boos for everyday anger. That is the gem.
