The trap of 'heb honger'

In Dutch you don't say 'I am hungry' with zijn. You say 'ik heb honger' , literally 'I have hunger'. Same for thirst: 'ik heb dorst'. It feels strange at first, but it's the only way. Own it and it becomes natural.
