How this verb works

  • Regular verb. The stem is toon. The infinitive tonen has n before -en, which is not in 't kofschip (t, k, f, s, ch, p), so the past tense takes -de (toonde, toonden) and the participle ends in -d (getoond).
  • When jij comes after the verb, the -t drops: jij toont, but toon jij?
