Terms of Service
Last updated: March 9, 2026
Welcome to Dutch Fluency. By using our website, tools, podcasts, or services, you agree to these terms. I've written them in plain language because legal jargon helps nobody. Laten we beginnen.
1. What Dutch Fluency is
Dutch Fluency is a language learning platform offering podcasts, interactive tools (Dagboek, Tulip Trainer, Skill Trainer, DFL Methode, Email Training), coaching, bootcamps, and personalized podcasts. Some features are free, others require a paid subscription.
2. Accounts
- You need an account to access paid tools and track your progress
- You're responsible for keeping your login details safe
- One account per person (no sharing subscriptions)
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
3. Subscriptions & payments
Free trials
Tools plans include a 7-day free trial. You won't be charged during the trial. Cancel anytime before it ends and you pay nothing. No tricks.
Billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. Annual plans give you 3 months free. Prices are in euros (EUR).
Cancellation
Cancel anytime from your dashboard. You keep access until the end of your billing period. No cancellation fees, no guilt trips.
Refunds
Podcast plans (Jouw Podcast, Dagboek Podcast) come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. For other subscriptions, we don't offer refunds for partial months, but if something went wrong, email Rick and we'll work it out.
Coaching sessions
Coaching packages (5, 10, or 20 sessions) are one-time purchases. Sessions don't expire. Reschedule at least 24 hours in advance.
4. Your content
Anything you create using our tools β diary entries, pronunciation recordings, exercise answers β belongs to you. We store it to provide the service but we don't own it, don't share it, and don't use it for marketing.
For Jouw Podcast and Dagboek Podcast subscribers on "Open" plans: your podcast episodes are published on public podcast platforms. By choosing an Open plan, you agree to this. If you want privacy, choose a PrivΓ© plan instead.
5. Our content
All Dutch Fluency content β podcasts, exercises, reading materials, stories, tools, blog posts, brand assets β is owned by Dutch Fluency. You can use it for personal learning but you can't redistribute, resell, or repurpose it commercially without permission.
6. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Γ Share your account with others
- Γ Scrape, copy, or redistribute our content
- Γ Use our tools for anything other than learning Dutch
- Γ Attempt to hack, overload, or disrupt our services
- Γ Submit offensive or illegal content through our tools
Basically: use Dutch Fluency to learn Dutch. That's what it's for. Logisch, toch?
7. Availability
We do our best to keep everything running smoothly, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. Things break sometimes. When they do, we fix them as fast as we can. We're a small team that cares, not a faceless corporation.
8. Limitation of liability
Dutch Fluency is a language learning tool, not a certified educational institution. We can't guarantee specific exam results, fluency levels, or career outcomes. What we can promise is that we put genuine effort into making the best tools possible.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dutch Fluency's liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email. Continuing to use Dutch Fluency after changes means you accept the new terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law (how fitting). Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the Netherlands.
Questions?
If anything in these terms is unclear, just reach out at rick@dutchfluency.com. I'd rather explain something than have you confused. Stap voor stap.
